Alex De Little (with Eric Stammers)
An experimental sound work for Moon Palace
Last year, in partnership with LEEDS 2023, we commissioned Alex De Little to respond creatively to Moon Palace’s tour of the city. Alex is a sonic artist and researcher based in Leeds and London. His artistic practice involves listening as a practice of world-making, a way of thinking through social, material and ecological relations.

Alex, and his collaborator Eric Stammers, developed a method for listening to ‘sferics’, natural radiofrequency emissions resulting from lightning in the Earth’s upper atmosphere. You can listed to the resulting audio work on this page.

Moon Palace is by Heather Peak and Ivan Morison. The project is an East Leeds Project and LEEDS 2023 co-production and was commissioned by Foxglove and LEEDS 2023 for Smeaton300. Produced in collaboration with the School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Leeds.
